ANF Engine 39 tries to catch a spot fire across a road in Lost Valley.
The next few photos tell the story.
Within seconds the rapid spread of the fire cause the 39 crew
to go into a defensive mode protecting them self's and their Engine.
Copter 17 and Firehawk 16 arrive quickly to make drops!
There was no stopping the fire and it moved rapidly down the road.
This structure was right across the road from the spot fire and
the photo was taken
at the same time as the photos above.
Below is a photo taken a minute later when the Pine trees caught fire
and
sent flames hundreds of feet in the air!
