There was very tight security around KSC that day with one personal riding on top of the MLP.




The Crawler weighs 2.2 million pounds alone, with the Launch Pad (MLP) & Shuttle 12 million pounds!




                                The transporter features eight tracked tread belts, each containing 57 tread belt "shoes."                                                               Each shoe is 7.5 feet long, 1.5 feet wide and weighs approximately 2,100 pounds!














Special rocks are used for the Crawlway. The Crawler Transporter smashes these rocks to dust!
